Several surgical procedures are available for transgender males (individuals transitioning from female to male).
The surgical procedures involves thoracale reshaping, laparoscopic hysterectomy and oophorectomy and genital reconstruction.
The thoracale reshaping includes the subcutaneous mastectomy, there are different procedures / several combinations that are possible depending on the size of the breasts:
- donut procedures
- inverted-T
- vertical technique
- free nipple transfer
- wise pattern
- liposuction
Hysterectomy is done by our gynaecologist, this is possible by laparoscopic or an open procedure.
Vaginal sheath removal can be done in combination with the gynecological procedure or seperately.
The genital procedures includes two types of penile reconstruction.
Metaidoioplasty involves lengthening the virilized clitoris to create a micropenis. Metaidoioplasty can also be performed with urethral lengthening to allow an individual to urinate while standing. We also perform scrotoplasty with or without testicular implants.
Phalloplasty represents the complete genito-perineal transformation and requires the use of tissue from a distant donor site. Phalloplasty can be performed with urethral reconstruction to allow for urination while standing, and implantable prostheses (testicular and penile) can be placed in subsequent procedures.
